Home Painters Info

THIS WEEKS TIP from Home Painters Info.

Never judge a paint color when it is wet. Wait till the paint sample is dry before you make that final decision. You can use a hair dryer to speed up the drying process.

Hi, and welcome to Home Painters Info. My name is Nigel, I am a tradesman whom has been working in the painting industry for over 15 years. The materials that we use today have changed a little in their makeup, however the techniques used for application hasn’t. I am happy to share with you the trade secrets on how to make it easier to paint your home as well as what to use when and where.

I will be supplying you with all my home painters info and knowledge and offering links to places that I have found to be extremely useful to me in running my painting contracting business. I have had many home owners contact me to fix up their mess after they have started to paint themselves. I have found that a lot of people have problems in a large range of areas. This is why I have decided to put this site together to give people the opportunity to learn new skills and find the easy way to do things.

I think most people can probably paint but the question I ask is it a false economy for people to paint themselves? Your average tradesman painter will be able to paint a normal sized bedroom in about 10-11 hours and they already have all the tools to do the job. The average home owner will take 2-3 times as long and will need to go out and purchase all the tools to do the same bedroom. It will cost the owner a lot more than it would be to get a tradesman to do the job.

Even with this being the case I will help and show you easier techniques to help you get a professional finish. Things I will include are:-

1. Surface Preparation

2. Repairs to damaged areas

3. Color Assistance

4. Types of paints (what’s best for the job)

5. Painting techniques

6. Painters Terminology

7. Tools for the job

8. Maintenance after you have painted

9. How much paint am I going to need

And much much more.

Is it all too hard or should I get a professional to do it.

Here you can get some professional advice that may help you with your project.
