Old Spanish house
I recently spent a great deal of time and money having an 80 year old spanish style home repainted. It had been 30 or more years since the last painting. A lot of old paint was peeling off, some plaster cracks. etc. The new job included plaster overcoating in large areas. The new paint applied to these areas in particular is now peeling off- a disaster. The primer should have had an adhesion test done prior to final top coat; this would have saved a big headache for the painting company- and me. No check of this was done- now we have a not-adhering paint layer in many, many sections.
